Another new course, to all but a few of our members, was the challenge for 22 Dogleggers. The rain stayed off for most of the day with just the last couple of 4 balls getting a little damp. The tough course was tamed by a few players, lead by a 33 handicapper, who will probably never see that handicap again!!!!
There is a new leader on the Order of Merit taking over from Tom!!
A birdie 3 on the 4th gave Aidy(33) 5 points on his way to 14 points on the front 9!! Two 4 pointers and four 3 pointers gave him a record 24 points on the back 9 and 38 overall. Nice one Aidy. It was only a couple of months ago, after an awful game, he told me he was packing up!!!
The 5 and 4 pointers have shot Aidy up the Eclectic leader board to 55 points, just 2 behind Tom and Bob.
Now for the explanation as to why he has been cut to 26!! I know it seems a bit harsh but rules are rules!! The average points scored was 27, putting Aidy 11 shots over the average so the system cut him to 28, (0.5 for every shot over for Category 5 players). He then loses a further 2 shots for winning as a Cat.5 player.
Vice Captain Ricky presents the prize.
Well done Aidy.....it's tough at the top.
Captain Matt had to leave early, which was probably just as well as he would have had to present himself with The Runner Up prize, with 34 points, Nearest the Pin in 2 on the 15th plus the 2's cash!! What a good day Captain!!
